Selling B2B on Shopify you're not a Shopify Plus merchant is not the most pleasant experience.
When you're using Shopify in Norway you typically have 1 Shopify store per market you serve since Shopify Markets is not available.
They had 4 Shopify stores.
Abate were doing well, but it was not feasible to have Shopify Plus for each market / store they had, though they wanted many of the B2B features offered by Shopify Plus.
Before working with us they were using the app Wholesle Gorilla. It was fine, but fine isn't good enough when you're a high-end brand.
Pages were slow to load, the app didn't provide them all the features they wanted and the overall UX did not live up to the quality standard they had set for the rest of their company.
So we built them a custom B2B portal where retailers could make orders and they could make orders on behalf of all their customers– In one place
And Abate could manage all their B2B customers in one place.
In the image below you can see the search view of the order form for an admin.
How it works:
Abate sells bedding.
Their products in Shopify usually have two variables: size and color.
Having both the size and color in the same view made it very messy.
Ususally, when a retailer wants to make an order they think about
That's why we structured the dropdown in that way
First you select the product, then the size and lastly you see all the colorways for that given size.
This is one of the coolest features of the portal.
We allow retailers and admins choose what they want to do when they've added a higher quantity of an item than what's in stock in Shopify
They can:
Here is a video explaining to you how it works:
Here they can put any B2B-specific questions.
In this page they can create a price list for any discount level, Shopify store and product range they'd like.
It saves as a PDF and can be printed or emailed to the customer.
Potential customers can submit a request to become a B2B customer.
They fill out a form and Abate is notified via email of the application.
Then they can go in the back-end system and approve or decline the application.
B2B customers can edit their own personal and billing information, depending on whether they are a user for an admin for the company account.
Admin users can edit all company info whilst users can only edit their own information and place orders.
